Caroline Hong, Steinway Artist and Professor of Piano at The Ohio State University, is an internationally active soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, teacher, and recording artist. She holds degrees from Indiana University, The Juilliard School, and the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, and has served on the faculty of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and Longwood University. Praised for her “expressive and powerful playing,” “formidable technique,” and “keen sense of lyricism,” she made her Carnegie Weill Recital Hall debut as a winner of the Frinna Awerbuch International Piano Competition and has appeared as soloist with orchestras including the Utah Symphony, Columbus Symphony, and Richmond Symphony. Pulitzer Prize and Academy Award-winning composer John Corigliano called her “one of the greatest pianists I have ever heard.” In addition to her performing career, Dr. Hong is a distinguished educator and arts leader, serving as President of the American Liszt Society Ohio Chapter and Executive and Artistic Director of the Franz Liszt International Festival and Piano Competition.
